My Spanking New Nissan Latio Sport 1.6 ST-L
Sat, August 11, 2007 |
20 Comments Finally decided to let go of our faithful 4-year-old Nissan Sentra to upgrade to this, the 5-door Latio Sport 1.6 litre automatic hatchback. Adios, my fair Sentra - her new owner is my wife’s colleague who has always had an eye for her (my Sentra, not my wife) and, hopefully, she’ll be well looked after in her new home.
Behold, the Latio Sport… from the front…
Initial impressions of my new Latio is that there is loads of space in the cabin and more than enough storage nooks and cup holders to even drive Katy green with jealousy, haha. Noise insulation is superb, and the engine is buttery smooth - this car doesn’t actually roll along the highway per se, it glides.
Another view… from the rear…
Driver seating position is significantly higher than in a normal car (almost like driving an MPV or SUV) and - most importantly - the car comes equipped with double airbags in the front, ABS + EBD + BA, and a crash safety rating of 6 stars, which is the highest possible score. Comforting to know for times when you have your whole family in the car with you.
Anyways, check out the thumbnails and you can find more pictures here.
For more information on the Latio, check out the official Nissan Malaysia website or the Latio microsite.
And, last but not least…. from the side…
That’s it. You can wipe the drool off your chin now.

As if making ppl drool during drama presentation not enough, now this...
SHAME ON U!
Ji Jian,
First, I didn't finish the sandwiches by myself - I had help from Edwin Tan who stood by me after the skit and kept saying: "Hmm, those sandwiches look yummy!"
So I kesian my brother and went halves with him, haha.
Second, why didn't you tell me you were going to be there? Your Christmas DVD is still with me. Shame on you!
Btw, how wuz the play?
if you are to wake up tomorrow morning and discover drool all over your car; it's not me ok. 2nite must go up to your place and sibuk2 sikit; pretend going for walk.
jon, i have a CCTV trained on my baby to catch any perpetrators who try to molest her with drool!
for you, bro, no need to pretend lar... just come right up and ask me for the keys to testdrive, lol :D
Wah sai! New car again!?! I will want a test drive...
Ang: Go to the Nissan Latio microsite and click on 'REGISTER FOR TEST DRIVE'... it's free, my friend!
Pai seh, forgot about the DVD. No lah just crashed the party for a free umbrella only hehe. Tried to meet up with you but you sorta vanished after service :P
But anyway, the play was nothing less than what I would expect of a Julian production. You still have the touch, though you do look a little too young to be Mel's dad without your ahpek make up...
hello!!! welcome back! hi everyone :) howas anniversary!?
nice car btw! everyone sounds excited!
Ji Jian: Too young to be Mel's dad? See, now that's why I like you so buddy, LOL! :P
pL: Hiya... Anniversary was great. Err, your webcam, I forgot to bring to Anniversary. Will pass it to Bryan directly.
I still cannot believe the coincidence!..
;) what else can I say but good taste in car hehehe...
cyrene: Hmm, my spider-sense detects a definite note of self-praise there!!
We should get together for some Latio talk one of these days, yar?
Wah, your car looks really garang!
Wei Yin: To match the owner's disposition mah... lol
Hi, Julian...
Nice car...i plan to buy Latio too...however, still not many on the road....the consumable of the petrol of this car high?
Not that many on the road can be a pretty cool thing, you know ;)

Hi,
how about the fuel?saving or not?
How is the car so far, after more than a year of usage? Any qualms? :)
My review of the car :

Cheers.
Ndmervin: Thus far, it's one of the best cars I've had the pleasure of owning.
It isn't perfect, of course, but then again what car is? Apart from a few small niggles, I've had no major issues whatsoever with my Latio.
Btw nice review, I think I may have stumbled across your article before.
