Tah-dah !!!

I have prepared for everyone’s viewing and downloading pleasure, a complete and edited copy of the skit (“Anniversary Manna”) that we performed last Sunday during Metro ’s 22nd Anniversary Celebration Service.

But before that, though, let me extend my gratitude and love to everyone who helped to stage the skit and present it so effectively on Sunday morning. I’ve been receiving a huge number of good reports from a great very many church members who simply loved the skit and the way the message and testimonies were presented. We had prayed that this skit would be a blessing to many and I think God has truly used us collectively to impart faith AND laughter in abundance to the congregation on our Anniversary!

Teck Choy, Julie, Chun Hoo, and Samantha: Thank you for your dedication and hard work and faithfulness. The people can see the fruit of our effort, but God also remembers the late weekend nights and the hours you’ve put in. I hope you too have been blessed and strengthened as well. Btw, you guys really rocked!

Katy and Janice: Thanks for being there with us at rehearsals and for doing a good job on the cameras. Just check out the video… that’s your handiwork! Love you both.

Wan Tze: You had a simple but very important job, and you did it well. If you faltered, we would have all died on stage. But then, if I thought that you would falter, I wouldn’t have put you there, would I?  Love you.

Gilbert and Alwin: Thanks for setting up the system properly and getting all the right gear for the drama team to do our job well. I need you guys there all the time and I’m grateful.

All the drama team members: Because when one team wins, the whole team wins!

Yoke Chin: My drama ministry kepala. I brake for her.

My senior pastor and music pastor: For giving us the freedom and trust to do the things we do to help glorify His name and expand His kingdom.

Jesus Christ: Last on this list but first in our hearts. Lord, we do it all for You.

About the video: I rendered it at a higher than normal resolution in order for everyone to be able to catch the priceless expressions on all the actors’ faces as well as the other subtleties in the skit. The downside to this is, of course, a much larger filesize (it’s 27.6Mb) but I think you’ll find that it’s worth the wait.

It’s in WMV format (Windows Media Video) and as such it just seems to stream better under IE6. If you’re using other browsers it will still work fine (I run and test on 4 different browsers).

And you really should be doing this on broadband. Dialup users had better be prepared to wait some time and lose some hair.

Hmm, actually, there is another suggestion which I hesitate to make, ah, but what the heck… here goes.

If you’re on dialup connection and are unable to download the video in full, or if you don’t have any internet access (how on earth are you reading this then?), or if you simply love it so much you want a copy for your very own self or for friends, I could make it available on VCD (which, by the way, is very clear!).

Leave me a comment or drop me a line if you think the idea has any merit. Offers are accepted from anywhere on Planet Earth provided you take care of handling and shipping. Otherwise I’ll only charge you for the CD-R, say RM 1 (USD 0.25) per piece — is that fair? Unless I’m making this come out all wrong, I hope it’s clear that I’m not doing this for the money, ya?

(Ya, right… drama ministry…. what money?!?)

The only exception will be the actors and team members who took part in the skit: they’ll each get one complimentary VCD because they more than deserve it. I love you guys!
